Does this mean three months?

I think it means three months.

Where on earth does the time go so quickly.

This week at work!

What I’ve been creating:

1. Lots of content

Between our own social media accounts, as well as the social media of other initiatives my company is involved with, there has been lots of tweeting and posting on LinkedIn.

2. A plan for Thanksgiving

Knowing that Thanksgiving is coming up, I wanted to make sure we were being intentional with our content to make sure we were creating applicable pieces.

We set up a meeting, brainstormed ideas, and got some plans laid out two weeks in advance.

This may or may not have had anything to do with the fact that I thought that Thanksgiving was happening a week earlier than it actually is, but that part’s irrelevant.

What I’ve been learning:

1. How dependent I really am on good internet connectivity.

For the majority of the week our team was working at a temporary location. This due to the exciting announcement that we were moving offices, but the new one wasn’t quite ready yet.

This was very exciting, because who doesn’t want to work in 2 Grand Central Tower for a week?

Other than the fact that for some reason, my computer refused to connect to their internet. Thus ensued a days-long battle of frustration between me, the WiFi, my computer, and my phone’s struggling hotspot. Eventually I got the go-ahead to work from a nearby coffee shop where my computer connected very easily.

I wrote at the beginning of this year that my computer has some interesting quirks, but this was the least cute and most obnoxious of all of them. I lost a lot of productive time, and that resulted in a struggle to stay on task when I was connected due to feeling overwhelmed and behind.

2. It’s easy to get caught in perfectionism when you’re using Canva all day long.

This week was a good reminder to #JustShipIt.

I’m discovering that I have the tendency to lose track of time when working on graphics for social posts and spend too much time tweaking minor details.

While each piece needs to reflect excellence and cohesivity, it’s just as important to get things created and shipped in a timely manner.

Lesson learned.

This week in New York City!

We’ve officially moved into our new office space, and it’s super exciting. It’s in the same space as an accelerator program that primarily focuses on Russian and Eastern European startups. The office is filled with conversations in Russian all day long, and it’s an excellent motivator for me to pick my Russian lessons back up.

This also means that I can now walk to work. Which, if I chose to do this and forego a weekly/monthly metrocard, I can save over $100 a month just on transportation! And if you count the fact that I don’t have to go and buy a gym membership now because I’ll be getting all this daily exercise in, that’s like an extra $50-100 saved a month.

I feel so frugal. And powerful.
