Every morning, the first thing I do at work is create a new note labeled “WILT [today’s date]” and leave it in an open tab for the rest of the day.

It’s the easiest way ever to make quick observations and write down little tidbits of learning that would otherwise get lost in the shuffle.

Since it’s Friday today, here are a couple assorted WILTs from this week (from work and life in general):

1. In startup and accelerator world, EIR stands for Entrepreneur-In-Residence.

2. There’s a second entrance to my subway stop that I was totally unaware of. That means I don’t have wait to cross the street every morning.

3. If I’m ever doing a task at work that makes me hate the teacher, just figure out the calculus way to do things. (This will probably be its own post one of these days.)

4. Kombucha really does gush and leak if not refrigerated.

5. When New Yorkers say that they ordered pies for an event, they don’t mean the kind with apples.

6. Efficiency, energy, and enthusiasm really seem to be some of the most universally-valued characterisrics in a work setting.

7. Dollar pizza is a real thing. Looks like I will be able to afford to sleep, work, and eat in New York after all!

Those are just a couple examples of my WILT week.

Happy Friday everybody and enjoy your holiday weekend!
